Challenge San Gil Querétaro, will take place on Sunday, July the 8th, 2018, with in the Residential San Gil and Golf Club. www.clubdegolfsangil.com the location can be seen in the following map:


  • Date: 8th of July, 2018
  • City: San Gil, San Juan del Rio, Queretaro, Mexico.
  • Address: Club Campestre San Gil, A.C.,   Km. 172.5 Mexico – Queretaro Highway (Exit on Highway to Host Hotel Mision San Gil)
  • Race start: 6:48 a.m.
  • Race capacity:  650 individual and 100 relays
  • Challenge Sprint: 300 individual

Prize Purse

In 2018, a World Ranking for Professional Triathletes started and it is updated a week after week when the racing season starts. This ranking will be used to determine the new Challenge Family entry fee system:

Free entry for athletes ranked 1-250 in the Prize Money Ranking
50% of the entry fee for athletes ranked from 251 – 400 in the Prize Money Ranking

For athletes ranked 401 and above, the entre fee will be the same as the age group division; any entry benefits will be at the discretion of the race director.

The pro-purse will be awarded in US dollars

The 2018 Pro Purse will be the following for Men and Women. Half distance prize money breakdown:

Athletes will need the Challenge Family Pro Status that can be obtained at the following link: http://www.challenge-family.com/pro-athlete-page/


Challenge will grant athletes to race in the professional category at any Challenge event if you meet one of the criteria outlined below:


  • The Challenge Family Professional Membership will be conducted in a calendar year, starting January 1, through to December 31 covering all full and half distance Challenge events.
  • Athletes will be required to submit a copy of their professional license issued by their respective National Triathlon Federation.
  • Athletes who’s National Triathlon Federation does not issue an official professional license, a letter from a representative of the NTF confirming your professional status will be accepted.
  • If neither of these options is available Challenge Family will consider an athlete result from the preceding 2 years.
  • Please scan and send a document(s) to the Pro Athlete e-mail address. Please include country you reside (if different from license) and representing the country for 2018.

English Mandatory Meeting

If you are a professional athlete, certified by your Triathlon Federation, please fill the next form: Professional Form

The mandatory meeting will take place on Friday, July 6th,  2018, at 5:30 pm. The meeting place will be announced soon.

Bike Check in and Body Marking

The body marking by Mexican Triathlon Federation Referees will start at 11:00 am and will be closed at 6:00 pm. The same Time Schedule will be available for the Mandatory Bike check-in.

Climate Predictions

Even though it is too soon to make predictions for race day. Usually, July is a great month for a Triathlon event. With temperatures in the range of 27 to 32 centigrade, we expect a sunny and warm day for Challenge San Gil Queretaro.
